Load an existing template using the 'Template Manager'. First select the folder Fig.1 (1), and then the template Fig.1 (2). If the template was not saved into a folder, you can select the template directly from the 'Template' drop menu Fig.1 (2) without first selecting a folder Fig.1 (1). When a folder is selected, only templates saved into that folder will be listed in the 'Template' drop menu. Once the applicable template has been selected, left click 'Load' and the template will load in the 'Editor' as it was last saved. Alternatively, create a new merge document using the 'Editor' functionality. To archive a template, but not the folder it is contained within, select the folder and template as described above, but instead of 'Load' left click 'Archive'. Folders and the templates within can be archived en masse as described on the 'Creating Templates' page. |

Make any amendments that might be required in the 'Editor' view Fig.2 (1). Unless you change the name of the template in the 'Template Name' Fig.2 (2) field, you will overwrite the existing template. Use the 'Preview' button to review the document, or 'Merge' to proceed and generate the document.

Once 'Merge' has been clicked, a new page with a 'Download' link Fig.3 (1) will appear. Depending upon the number of documents you are producing, this may take some time. When it appears, click the 'Download' link and a document will appear ready to be opened Fig.3 (2).

Depending upon whether you have chosen to merge to a 'Word' document Fig.4 or '.pdf' document, will determine whether you can make further amendments to the document layout, for example margins etc. If editing the layout of a word document, once completed, save the document to a suitable location on your computer or shared drive. A '.pdf' file can be exported to an editable programme such as 'Word' but will require the appropriate Adobe license. Please note - when saving a merged 'Word' document, the produced document is initially a web page Fig.5, you will therefore need to change the document type to a 'Word' file prior to saving. A '.pdf' merge will download and save as an 'Adobe Acrobat Document', saving as a '.pdf' file. |
