Using the 'Tasks' functionality, tasks can be created directly within a client contact Fig.1, or from the 'Calendar' tool Fig.2. Task types can be specified by our clients, and amended by a YapCRM or Client Administrator. There are several advantages to using tasks within your CRM, as opposed to using an e-mail client calendar.
Clear visibility of tasks, and with management overview, can ensure that if a user is absent outstanding tasks can be reallocated.
History of tasks relating to a contact/company within the CRM.
Calendars are shared so everyone knows where and when team members are available.
Task KPI reporting can be generated.
Email reminders can be sent on task creation, daily and set time reminders with task notes and contact/company details on reminder.
Users and management can use an iCal feed from the CRM into their default e-mail client, meaning visibility of scheduled tasks is available without even logging into the CRM.
The following sections will cover how to add, update and manage tasks added to your CRM directly via a contact or the calendar, and how to create an iCal feed to your external client calendar.
